The winning play has been selected!
Our first playwriting competition for the Best Original Lesbian-Themed Play received a total of seventeen submissions from all over the United States and as far away as New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The Reading Committee had a difficult time, but is pleased to announce our winning play:
Do Geese See God
by J.D. Eames
Louisville, KY
Congratulations, J.D.! Your play was judged the best by both audience members and the Reading Committee. For more about the play and
performance dates, click here.
Thank you for helping us choose the winning play! The staged readings of the finalists' plays were well-received and the surveys that the audience members filled out helped the Reading Committee to select the winner. We also had lots of raffle prizes and had a drawing for four free tickets to the winning play during each of the four readings. Those four winners are: Donna Matthews, Sequieta Whitfield, Sandra Whitney and Cynthia Drumbor.
In addition, there was one grand prize drawing out of all the audience members for four season passes to the Lambda Players’ 20th Season. That winner is Misha Von Dommelen.
Our Playwright Competition was a huge success and we hope to have another one in the near future. Watch our Web site for future news or subscribe to our e-mail list. If you are not currently on the Lambda Players e-mail list and would like to subscribe please feel free to send us an e-mail by
